“Night” in Ink

On this folio page in Pulter’s manuscript (fol. 15), the scribe finishes copying Poem 4 and then records the whole of Poem 5 on the bottom third of the page. As can be seen below, the letter “N” in “Night”, both in the title and in the first and fifth lines, are visually highlighted by the scribe’s stylized loops and curls.
